Charles A. Hardymon

July 2, 1945 — November 6, 2015

Charles A. Hardymon, age 70, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and formerly of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 12:02am at the Bucyrus Community Hospital.

He was born on July 2, 1945 in Lewis County, Ohio, to Ab and Helen (Butler) Hardymon, both of whom are deceased. He married Norma Jean Cooley on October 12, 1962 and she passed away October 2, 2014.

Charles is survived by two children: Connie S. (Daniel) Smith and Allen D. (Debi) Hardymon both of Upper Sandusky, 4 grandchildren: Brandon (Kelly) Smith, Jacob Smith, Marissa Hardymon, and Cory Hardymon. 2 brothers, Albert (Sharyle) Stonecipher-Hardymon of Fishers, Indiana, Mike (Linda) Hardymon of Eaton, Ohio, and a sister Linda (Wayne) Hardymon-Cook of Eaton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers, Don, Junior, and Wilford Hardymon, and 4 sisters, Juanita Trease, Lorene Gin, Mary Alice Bayless and Thelma Hardymon.

Charles worked as a Team Leader for Dayco-Swan Hose in Bucyrus, retiring in 2010 after 45 years.

He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Oceola for many years.

For hobbies, Charles enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, landscaping, raising flowers and vegetable gardening, following NASCAR, especially Dale Jr. He especially loved his family, and spending time with his grandchildren, and recently he was able to go back to Vanceburg, and see family and friends
from his hometown.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Angel officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.


Family and friends will be received from 5 - 8 pm Monday, November 9, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky


Memorial contributions may be given to Children's Hospital of Columbus in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH. 43351.
