Catherine "Cathy" E. Niederkohr, age 88, passed away peacefully at her daughter Theresa's home, on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Upper Sandusky.
Catherine was born on September 14, 1936, in Urbana, Ohio, to John and Margaret (Ater) Connolly. She was married to Donald V. Niederkohr on November 6, 1965, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Findlay, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on August 2, 2012.
Catherine is survived by her children: Joanie (Ron) Alkire of Vanlue, Andy Niederkohr of Carey, Theresa (Brian) Mundy of Upper Sandusky, 5 grandchildren: Tori (Geoff) McTurner of Columbus, Ashley (Michael) Nye of Carey, Josh (Kerry) Mundy of Carey, Alexis (Michael) Summit of Forest, and Jacob Akire of Vanlue, and 3 great grandchildren: Adrien Summit, Asher Nye, and Ruth Nye. Catherine is also survived by her sisters in law, Irma Hill, Nora Connolly, and her special friends Eleanor, and Gloria Mundy.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Catherine attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Urbana for 11 years and then finished her school career at Findlay High School, graduating in 1954. Catherine was a homemaker, and she enjoyed baking, crocheting, doing puzzles, going to the senior center for crafts and playing Bingo. Catherine was also an avid OSU fan.
A graveside service for Catherine Niederkohr will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Salem St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.
Visitations for Catherine will be held prior to the graveside from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Saturday, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
