Carolyn J. (Mcclain) Bogard

Carolyn Joan Bogard, age 87, formerly of Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio.

Carolyn was born on May 7, 1936 in Wyandot County to the late Ora and Gladys (Walton) McClain. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel Bogard. They were married on June 24, 1956 and shared 62 years together until his passing in 2018.

Carolyn is also survived by her four children, Jill Bogard and Lori (Lyle) Weaver of Upper Sandusky, Jeff (Paula) Bogard of Bucyrus, and Todd (Amy) Bogard of Fremont.  7 grandchildren, Miles (Lana) Weaver, Nathan (Angie) Bogard, Jessica (Jay) Schwanger, Collyn (Jacob) Badenhop, Mason Weaver, Travis (Megan Mulvaine) Bogard, and Madalynne (Doran Burch) Snyder, along with 9 great grandchildren, Harrison, Weston, Nolan, Brecklyn, Quinn, Jack, Benjamin, Nora, and Andrew. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Powers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers James McClain, Robert McClain, Jerry McClain, and sisters Dorothy Lininger, Jean Miller, and Ann Conrad.

Carolyn graduated from Nevada High School in 1954 and was a member of Nevada United Methodist Church where she was active in the Ruth Circle. She attended the former North Salem Lutheran Church in later years.

For hobbies she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Dan, attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities, watching college basketball and, of course, the Cleveland Indians. However, her most favorite activity was to cook and spend time with her family.

A private graveside service with burial will be held at a later date at North Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
