Brian Lee Janes, age 60, of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Autumnwood Care Center in Tiffin, Ohio.
Brian was born on October 30, 1965, in Kenton, Ohio, to Brady E. and Carol Yvonne (Saunders) Janes. He married Judy Ann Steinbaugh on April 28, 2001, at the Marblehead Lighthouse. Judy survives in Upper Sandusky.
Brian is also survived by his children: Matthiew (Grace) Bowling, and Hunter (A.J.) Holman, both of Findlay, 6 grandchildren: Chrissy, Ashlynn, Jordan, Quentin, Skylar, and Parker, 2 great grandchildren: Aeris, and Harper, and several nieces.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Keith and Kevin Janes.
Brian attended school at Marion Harding and graduated from Tri Rivers. Brian then served in the United States Navy for 4 years in active duty and then served as a reservist for many years. Following his time in the Navy, Brian worked for Purex, HPM, and most recently Whirlpool, all in Marion.
Brian loved history and he enjoyed participating in Revolutionary War reenactments. Brian even owned The Green Lantern in Upper Sandusky for several years, where he sold equipment to other fellow war reenactment enthusiasts. Brian also loved Bigfoot, Aliens, Canadian Football, going fishing and hunting, and he loved his dogs.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lucas-Batton, to assist the family with funeral expenses, and can be sent to 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
