Bonnie L. Delong

Bonnie L. DeLong, age 86, of Belton, South Carolina and formerly of Bucyrus, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at her home following a short illness.

Bonnie was born on February 21, 1923 in Goodland, Kansas to the late Walter Earl and Lydia Marie (Parsons) Farmer. She married Dale D. DeLong on March 2 1951 and he preceded her in death.


Surviving are four children, Kathy Kovacs, Easley, South Carolina, Cindy (Johnny) Hanley of Belton, South Carolina, Don (Maydean) DeLong of Plainfield Indiana, and Walter (Cheryl) DeLong of Risingsun, Ohio. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, along with 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Bonnie was a homemaker and attended Peasant View Wesleyan Church and was a former member of Pilgrim Holiness Church in Nevada. For hobbies, she enjoyed crocheting and reading.


Funeral services for Bonnie L. DeLong will be held at 1:00pm Monday, October 5 at the Nevada Pilgrim Holiness Church, with the Rev. Brian Spangler officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held Sunday, October 4, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada and 2 hours before service time on Monday at the church.
