Betty L. Gelbaugh, age 89, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and formerly of Harpster, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December, 29, 2012 at 6:00AM at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.
Betty was born on March 6, 1923 in Harpster to Robert and Ruth (Sworts) Montee, both of whom are deceased. She married Keith "Jake" Gelbaugh on April 24, 1948 in Pontiac, Illinois and he died on December 24, 1991.
Surviving are 2 children, Karol (Dean) Lee of Findlay, and Ken (Cheryl) Gelbaugh of Upper Sandusky. Along with 5 grandchildren, Brian (Darla) Lee, Eric Lee, Scott (Tanielle) Gelbaugh, Gwen (Keith) Adams and Kimberly Gelbaugh, and 2 great grandchildren, Alex Gelbaugh and Hayden Adams.
Betty had worked for Commercial Savings Bank in Harpster for many years and had worked at Hickory Grove Country Club in Harpster. She also helped her husband, Jake, in earlier years with farming.
Betty was a member of the Harpster United Methodist Church and a 1941 graduate of Harpster High School.
She will be remembered for appreciation and love for others, especially her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services for Betty L. Gelbaugh will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev Rick Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 1, from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyandot County Home Activities Fund or a Charity of the Donors Choice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
