Bernice M. Beidler, age 99, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio died
Tuesday, March 24, at 2:30am at the Main Campus of
the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Bernice was born on March 30, 1909 in Morral, Ohio, Marion County, to Thomas Blaine and Cleo Ethel (Walterhouse) Cochrun. She married Thomas Ralph Beidler on May 20, 1930 in Marion, Ohio and he passed away on April 11, 1991.

Bernice is survived by a son, Dr. Robert E. (Natalie) Beidler of Tipp City, Ohio. Two grandchildren, Deborah Ann (Daniel) Wysni of McKeesport, PA and Robert C. (Jeana) Beidler of Lebanon, Ohio. Six great grandchildren: Kathryn Elizabeth Beidler, Megan Lyn Beidler and Jami Nicole Beidler, Danielle Rae Wysni, Dylan Thomas Wysni, and Devin Nicole Wysni.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son: Richard Charles Beidler, four brothers: Forest I., Louis A., Carl L. and James L. Cochrun.

Bernice graduated from Morral High School in May of 1926 she went on to attend Bowling Green State Normal College from 1926-1927 and the summers of 1928 and 1929. She taught 1st and 2nd grade at Morral, Ohio from 1928-1930. After teaching, Bernice was a homemaker and helped her husband run Beidler Hardware in Upper Sandusky for 28 years.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1931. Also a member of the Warpole Chapter #366 Eastern Star where she was the Worthy Matron in 1945. Bernice was also a member and past president of the Usando Literary Club since September 1956 and a member of the Friends of the Library.

Funeral services for Bernice will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. The Rev. Kenneth Wessler will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Friends may call from 12:00pm - 2:00pm on Saturday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Upper Sandusky Community Library in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
