Barbara J. Orewiler, age 81, of Bucyrus, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Carlisle Place in Bucyrus, Ohio.
Barbara was born on March 21, 1944, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Clayton and Evelyn (Guthman) King, and they preceded her in death. Barbara married Donald R. Orewiler Jr., on October 9, 1966, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2023.
Barbara is survived by her son, Corey (Monica) Orewiler of Bucyrus, daughter Gretchen Orewiler of Bucyrus, granddaughter Anna (Carson) Gibson, great grandchildren, Henry and Eleanor Gibson. Barbara is also survived by brothers in law, Lee (Kathy) Orewiler and Ron (Nancy) Cover both of Bucyrus, sister in law Cheryl (Roger) Hieber of Ontario.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Linda Smith, brother in law Arthur Smith, sister Sandra Cover, and grandson Seth Leibengood.
Barbara graduated from Nevada High School in 1962. She worked at Timken in Bucyrus from 1964 – 1968, until she became a stay at home Mom, raising her two children. Barbara never missed a single sporting event or performance. Once Corey and Gretchen had graduated, Barbara worked at Carles Market in Bucyrus for several years.
Barbara was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Bucyrus, and a former member of the Mother's Club.
Barbara enjoyed tending to her flower garden, she was an animal lover, and she loved spending time in nature. She enjoyed going snowmobiling with Donald, and they would take trips to Michigan in their earlier years. She also enjoyed going to Norwalk Night Under Fire, Trans Siberian Orchestra concerts, and going on trips to Amish Country. Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and will be officiated by Rev. Kenneth Wessler.
Visitations will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home, prior to the service.
