Audrey A. Austin-Culver

Audrey A. Austin-Culver, age 77, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 02, 2014 at 4:28am at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born on September 19, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, to Stuart and Wanda (Glasco) Simpson. Audrey married Dallas E. Austin on Sept 1, 1956, who preceded her in death. She then married George Culver on May 13, 1989, also preceding her in death.

Audrey is survived by three children: Terry (Barb) Austin of Dallas, Texas, Cathy (Richard) Toupin of Auburn, Indiana, and Cindy (David) Martin of Upper Sandusky, twelve grandchildren: Lesley Austin, Terry Austin, Jr., Lacey Austin, Jared (Shannon) Toupin, Ryan Toupin, Alyssa (Joe) Welch, Jenna Toupin, Blake Ross, Eric Ross, Brice Ross, Ryley Martin, Katie Martin and a great grandson, Logan Cheshier.

She is also survived by three brothers, Doug Simpson of Crowley, Texas, Fred(Jin Sook) Simpson of North Richland Hills, TX, and Denny(Sandy) Simpson of Homosassa, FL.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a brother Jeff Simpson, and a sister Sharon Simpson.

Audrey was a homemaker and worked for a number of years for the Upper Sandusky Schools in the high school cafeteria. After her retirement from the high school, she did home healthcare for others in the community.

She attended Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky. And for hobbies, she enjoyed home decorating, shopping and eating out with family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her two favorite companions Callie (cat) and Toby (dog). She daily walked her dog at either Stepping Stones or Smith Harrison Park, often meeting up with her friends.

A memorial service for Audrey A. Austin-Culver will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, May 10, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am at the funeral home on Saturday, May 10.
