Arvel L. Bowling

Arvel L. Bowling, age 79, of Findlay, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011
At 9:40 am at The Heritage Nursing Home in Findlay.

Arvel was born on December 7, 1931 in Robbins, Tennessee to William and Columbia (Overton) Bowling, both of whom are deceased. He married Thelma June Shearer on June 1, 1958 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and she survives in Findlay.

Also surviving are 2 sons, Clinton Bowling of Carey, Ricky (Vickie) Bowling of Findlay, and a daughter Alice (Bill) Lawrence of Findlay. 6 grandchildren, Matthiew (Grace) Bowling, Karla (Brett) Miller, Dustin Folk, Zachary Bowling, Kimberly (Derek) Betts and Brian (Angel) Bowling and 10 great grandchildren.

He is also survived by 3 brothers, Levi (Inga) Bowling, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Arlie (Genevieve) Bowling of Carey, Bob Bowling of Robbins, Tennesse, and a sister Annie Birchfield of Vanlue and 2 half sisters June (Ulyous) Hamby of Robbins, TN., and Sue (Fred) Lewis of Hazard, Kentucky.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Thelma Nadine Bowling, 3 brothers, Kermit , Harvie, Grady Bowling and 2 half brothers, Earl Overton, Bearl Overton, and 1 half sister Faye Smithers.

Arvel was a heating and air conditioning technician for A Triple A Heating and Air Conditioning in Findlay. He was a member of the VFW #3003 in Findlay where he was the president of the men's auxiliary. For hobbies he enjoyed playing pool, cards and fishing at Lake Erie.

Funeral services for Arvel L. Bowling will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 22, 2011 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Gary Stumbo officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held onThursday, from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
