Arthur M. Guttenberg, age 81, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at his home in

Upper Sandusky.

Art was born on December 29, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio to Herman & Theresa (Eishen) Guttenberg.    He married Darlene P. Smaltz on September 23, 1956 in Bucyrus, Ohio, and she passed away on April 1, 2015.


He is survived by a daughter, Joy (Tom) Fuller of Helena, Ohio, 2 grandchildren, Valerie (Chad) Dillon of Fostoria, Krysta (Jordan) Endicott of Findlay, 2 great grandchildren Jayce and Mason, and 2 step great grandchildren, Jordyn and Jacqui.

Art is also survived by 2 brothers, Herman (Margaret) Guttenberg of Kinston, Tennessee, Stanley "Larry" Guttenberg of Bucyrus, and two sisters, Joan Forman of Newark, Ohio, and Rosemary Parker of Cocoa, Florida.

Art was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a son Jeffrey A., and two sisters, Sharon Skinner and Carolyn Desgranges.

Art was owner and operator along with his wife Darlene, of Guttenberg Camper Sales of Nevada for 34 years.


He served for 11 years with the Army Reserve.  He was a member of the Wyandot County Historical Board for many years.  He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, camping, playing bingo, taking care of his yard, going for rides in his golf cart, and going out to eat.  He was known for his ability to tell a good story, and for his all or nothing nature when it came to work or anything that he was involved with in the community.  He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Services for Arthur M. Guttenberg will be held at 11:00am Monday, June 27, 2016, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery, Nevada Ohio, where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.


Visitations will be held on Sunday June 26, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm
at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
