Anthony "Tony" J. Wieging, age 56, of Tiffin, Ohio and formerly
of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 3:53pm at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Tony was born on January 10, 1960 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to Merlin J. and Mary Lou (Rose) Wieging, both of whom are deceased. He married Michelle Mergel on November 14, 1992, and she passed away on November 28, 1999.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Crystal (Ted) Ebner of Galion, and Heather Mergel of Mansfield, and 4 sisters, Cindy (David) Miller of Upper Sandusky, Laura (Devon) Leightey of Upper Sandusky, Maggie (Gary) Rowland of Harpster, Jane (Jon) Rieser of Harpster, and a brother, Andy Wieging of Upper Sandusky. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Tony was a 1978 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and also graduated from the University of Akron with degree in engineering. He worked through the years as a mechanical engineer.
He was a former member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus #2050 in Upper Sandusky, and K of C #608 in Tiffin. For hobbies Tony enjoyed fishing.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky with Father J.R. Hadnagy OFM Conv officiating. Burial will follow at the Rowland Cemetery in rural Upper Sandusky.
There will be no visitation.
