Anna L. Clinger

Anna L. Clinger, age 87, of rural Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday,
March 24, 2015 at 5:35am at her home in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on August, 20, 1927 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Frederick J. and Jessie I. (Smalley) Castanien, both of whom are deceased. She married Robert E. Clinger on May 20, 1948 and he passed away on October 4, 1980.

Anna is survived by 4 children; Nancy (Dennis) Delong of Nevada, James R. (Karen) Clinger of Springfield, Ohio, Darlene (Jeffrey) Weaver of Upper Sandusky, and Barb (Jeff) McClain of Upper Sandusky. 17 grandchildren; Amy (Mark) Pohlman, Cynthia (David) Haney, Robert (Rachelle) Delong, Heather, Marcus, Lucas, Jonathan, Heidi, Matthew, Hannah and Hayleigh Clinger, Kelby (Candace) Weaver, Kodie (fiancAC.e-Alicia Naus) Weaver, Kayla Weaver, Riordan (Sarah) McClain, Mallory (Chad) Guined, and Mackenzie McClain, along with 13 great grandchildren.

She is also survived by 2 brothers, Thomas (Helen) Castanien, and Joel (Bonnie) Castanien, both of Upper Sandusky.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Donald.

Anna was a homemaker and helped her husband Robert on the family farm. She also worked
For a time for Ohio Power in Upper Sandusky and after the children were raised, Anna worked for the Board of Elections, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky, and had been a member of the Emanuel U.C.C. and Salem U.M.C., where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher and also Vacation Bible School.

Anna was a former member of the Country Modern Mother's Club, Card Club, 4-H advisor, and helped with the FHA club at the high school.

For hobbies she enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, and she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services for Anna L. Clinger will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, from 3-5pm and 7-9pm, and 1 hour before the service on Saturday.
