Andrew “Joey” Joseph Swartz, age 51, of Findlay, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, after a long, hard fought battle with lung cancer at Bridge Hospice Center in Findlay, Ohio.
Joey was born on February 8, 1975, Marion, Ohio, to Cloyd and Ruth (Lear) Swartz whom he now joins. He is survived by his wife, Tracy (Bowersock) Swartz. They joined in marriage on September 16, 1995.
He is also survived by his 2 children, Chelsie (Bradford) Schoonmaker of Toledo, and Kyle (Kaylee Wells) Swartz of Beaverton, Oregon, additionally, he has two grandsons, Braxton and Bryce Schoonmanker.
Joey is also survived by his siblings, Samuel (Kay) Swartz of Upper Sandusky, Steve (Penny) Swartz of Upper Sandusky, Cindy (Pam) Swartz of Marion, Tony (Dee) Swartz of Findlay, Suzanne (Greg Tackett) Swartz of Upper Sandusky, Sheila (Mark) Stuckert of Forest, Amy (Mike) Stone of Upper Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by with two siblings, Timothy Swartz, and a sister, Rose Swartz.
Joey was of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed listening to music, watching anime, working on vehicles, and had quite the sweet tooth. He loved having himself a cold can of Mountain Dew.
Joey will be remembered for his love he had for his family. He had a special place in his heart for his grandsons; they are for whom he lived for.
Funeral services for Andrew J. “Joey” Swartz will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Michael Parsell officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carey, Ohio.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Hospital at OSU and can be sent to Lucas Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
