Alvera M. Kin

Alvera M. Kin, age 88, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 6:45pm at St. Francis Home in Tiffin, Ohio.

Alvera was born on June 28, 1929 in New Riegel, Ohio to William and Ida (Bouillon) Clouse, both of whom are deceased.  She married Vernon L. Kin on July 29, 1950 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Tiffin, Ohio, and he passed away on February 27, 2003.

She is survived by three sons: Ronald (Karen) Kin of Toledo, Wayne (Denise) Kin and Daryl (Karen) Kin, both of Carey, and a daughter, Kayleen (Steve) Hoover of Tiffin, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Alvera is also survived by a brother James Clouse of New Riegel, and a sister, Irene Beaudry of Maumee, along with two brothers in law, Tony Holman of Fostoria, and Otto Gase of Tiffin and a sister in law, Rita Kin of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Alvin, Firmin, Walter and Herman "Shorty" Clouse, and sisters, Esther Strausbaugh, Emma Gase and Helen Holman.

Alvera was a homemaker and had worked at one time early in her life as a bookkeeper for Tiffin Mercy Hospital and later in the fabric department for the former Ben Franklin of Upper Sandusky.

She was a 1947 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School, and a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

For hobbies, Alvera enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, shopping and playing euchre.

A funeral mass for Alvera M. Kin will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Transfiguration of the Lord in Upper Sandusky with Father Antony Varghese Vattaparambil, OFM, Conv officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

It was Alvera's wish to have no visitation.
