Alice L. Roop

Alice L. Roop, age 86, of Bucyrus, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 04, 2010 at 2:00am at Heartland of Bucyrus.

She was born on March 6, 1924 in Harpster, Ohio to Lewis S. and Lena (Smith) Kheune, both of whom are deceased. Alice married Elger J. Roop on June 26, 1948 and he died November 29, 1982.

Surviving are three children, Susan (Gary) Harris of Bucyrus, John D. (Cynthia Jo) Roop of Nevada, Cynthia (Jerry) Holman of Bucyrus. Grandchildren Heidi Wilson, Holly May, Kris Harris, Bobbi Jo Roop, Jason J. Roop, Andrew Holman and Tyler Holman and great grandchildren, Samantha May, Kenzie May, Jacob Pickens, Madison Pickens, Nathaniel Wilson, Kyle Harris, Colton J. Worden and Mack Holman. Along with a brother Walter (Betty) Kheune of Marion.

Alice was preceded in death by a sister Helen Wilson.

Alice was a homemaker and at one time had worked at GE Lamp Plant in Bucyrus. She attended Nevada Pilgrim Holiness Church and she was a graduate of Harpster High School. For hobbies she enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She will be remembered for her love of family and friends and her love for the Lord.

Funeral services for Alice L. Roop will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 6, at the Nevada Pilgrim Holiness Church with the Rev. Brian Spangler officiating. Burial will follow at Roop Cemetery in Liberty Township.

Visitations will be from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the church on Saturday in Nevada. Memorial contribution may be made to the Pilgrim Holiness, or a charity of the donors choice and can
