Thomas J. “Tom” Rall, age 84, of rural Nevada, and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home in Nevada.
Tom was born on February 5, 1934 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to
Walter and Anna M. (Kin) Rall, both of whom are deceased. He married N. Jean Parish on August 20, 1958 and she survives.
He is survived by his 3 children: Karen (Robert) Daley of Elyria, Daniel (Tina) Rall of Upper Sandusky, and Jeff (Laura) Rall of Bucyrus. 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive, along with a brother, Russell Rall of Bucyrus, and a sister, Marva Schofield of Upper Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by 2 daughters: Sharon Veith and Becky Spitler.
Tom was a 1952 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, and was a veteran of the US Army. He served for 20 years and retired from the Upper Sandusky Police Department as a captain. He went on to work for the former Karg Supply for many years.
In 1984, Tom was one of the original members of Community Christian Center, where he played an integral part in the building of the church, and serving as an Elder of the church.
For hobbies, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with Jean, his children, and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Tom Rall will be held at 11:00am Thursday, October 25, at the Community Christian Center, with Rev. Bill Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, October 24, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and 1 hour before service time at the church on Thursday.
