Robert C. Zulauf

Robert C. Zulauf, age 92, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Robert was born on May 25, 1925 in rural Nevada to Clarence and Odessa (Neate) Zulauf, both of whom are deceased.  He married Doris M. Gray on August 19, 1950, and she passed away on November 20, 2002. 

Robert is survived by 4 children, Carl Zulauf, Elizabeth (Jerry) Brooks, and Fred (Gloria) Zulauf, all of Nevada, and Joyce (Ray) Bouillon of Tiffin.  4 grandchildren, Ray (JoLyn) Williams, Trish Derenberger, Aimee (Tim) Wood, Jerilee (Ryan) Utz, and  8 great grandchildren, along with a sister Helen Pool of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother John[C2]  and a sister Ruth Davis.

Robert graduated from Mt. Zion High School in 1943 where he lettered in basketball, baseball and track.  After graduation he went on to serve in the United States Navy as a Sea Bee in the Pacific during World War II and participated in the Battle of Okinawa. After his service, Robert came home and engaged in farming as a 3rd generation farmer outside Nevada where he lived his entire life.

Bob was a life member of the Nevada Legion Post #462.

Graveside services for Robert C. Zulauf will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Bucyrus.  Military graveside rites will be conducted at the cemetery.

Visitations will be held Thursday, January 11, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Nevada.
