Ralph E. Murray

Ralph E. Murray, age 85, of Sycamore, Ohio, passed away On Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 9:58am in the Emergency Room of Bucyrus Community Hospital, Bucyrus, Ohio.

He was born on December 11, 1931 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Ray and Mary (Lumberson) Murray.  He married Betty Jean Hetzel on June 18, 1950 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio and she survives.

Ralph is survived by 4 children: Mark (Pat) Murray of Nevada, Marcia (John) Lawyer of Marengo, Melanie (Chuck) Hughes of Sycamore, and Michele “Shelly” (Dale) Schreck of Hicksville.  7 grandchildren: Heather Thompson, Hilary (Joe) Ostrom, Drew (Tara) Lawyer, Melissa (Kyle) Renfro, Jennifer (Jeremy) King, Jaimee (Jeff) Slattery and Ryan Schreck, along with 13 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a great granddaughter Ashley Nicole Ostrom, 2 brothers Robert and Allen.

Ralph retired after 16 years from Housing Management. Before that he did construction and remodeling in the Wyandot and Crawford County Area. 

He was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in rural Bucyrus.

Ralph enjoyed doing puzzles, being outside to enjoy nature, reading the bible and spending time with his family.

He will be remembered for his hard work throughout the years, along with his loving and caring spirit.

Funeral services for Ralph E. Murray will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Gene Luidhardt, SAM officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Wednesday, July 5, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
