Ed was born on May 2, 1941 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Paul E. and Dorotha (McClain) Lininger, both of whom are deceased. He married Reda Crum on November 22, 1969 in Upper Sandusky, and she survives.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Kelly Adkins of Mansfield, and Kristina “Kris” Lininger of Sycamore, along with 3 grandchildren, Luke, Lauren and Zechariah Adkins.
Ed also is survived his siblings: Suzanne Miller of Upper Sandusky, David (Beth) Lininger of Sycamore, Judith Jacoby of McComb, Joe Lininger of Sycamore, Linda Passet of Sycamore, Rebecca (Thomas) Roush of Nevada, Sandra Gross of Florida, Cynthia (Mike) Margraf of Sycamore.
He was the first graduating class of Mohawk High School in 1959.
Ed was a lifetime farmer, first with his father Paul and brother Dave at Lininger Farms, and later with his brother Dave and nephew John at Lininger Family Farms. Before that he had worked for Westinghouse in Upper Sandusky for 11 years.
For hobbies he enjoyed watching sports, especially the Indians, Browns and the OSU basketball and football. Ed also enjoyed his afternoon trips of “road farming”, talking and trading stories and tall tales with fellow farmers and friends, helping his daughters in earlier years with their 4-H projects and watching animal shows at the fairs, and traveling with Reda to Hawaii, Amish country, and trips to the casinos.
Ed, even though retired, continued to watch, read, and learn anything and everything about agriculture and livestock, along with reading the newspaper every night.
His greatest joy was to spend time with his beloved Reda Mae and the grandkids, where he loved to share his wisdom and “Ed-isms” to his family and friends.
