Patricia R. Young

Patricia R. Young, age 83, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 6:14pm at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

Patricia was born on February 1, 1934 in Pitt Township, Wyandot County to Henry and Mildred F. (Swihart) Southward.  Soon after her birth, Mildred passed away and Patricia was raised by her maternal grandparents, Scott and Bertha Swihart.

She married Gerald Young on June 17, 1964 and he passed away on January 20, 1986.

Patricia is survived by 2 half-brothers, Danny Southward of Upper Sandusky,  Monte (Karen) Southward of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a sister in law, Alice Young of Upper Sandusky,  along with many nieces and nephews.

She was a homemaker and worked at AO Smith in Upper Sandusky. 

Patricia was a former member of the Amvets #777 in Upper Sandusky. 

For hobbies she was a lover of animals, especially horses and her dogs, and in later years she enjoyed watching Animal Planet on her tv.

Funeral services for Patricia R. Young will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, October 10, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Chaplain Steve Sturgeon officiating.  Burial will be at Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held 1 hour before service time on Tuesday, from 10:00am to 11:00am at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Humane Society or All Species Adoption Program and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
