Krista Kay Harrison

Krista Kay (Forry) Harrison, 63, of rural Fostoria died August 17, 2017 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay Ohio.

 

Born March 11, 1954 in Bucyrus, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Evelyn (Lucas) Forry. She married Paul Harrison on December 27, 1975 and he survives.

 

Other survivors include her three children, Jeremy (Kim) Harrison of Ashland, Aaron (Kelly) Harrison of Medina, and Kaylene (Christopher) Kiefer of Tiffin; her Mother-in-law June Harrison of Fostoria; grandchildren Andre of Ashland, Lincoln and Lucille of Medina and Mathis and Ryland of Tiffin.  A sister, Mary Ann (Fahy) Mullaney and two brothers, Gary (Marsha) and Jim Forry also survive her. Her oldest sibling, John pre-deceased her in 2006.

 

Krista attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Findlay and assisted with the youth program there. She also volunteered at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria. She was a member of Seneca County and Ohio Retired Teachers Association, and the Good Shepherd Home Auxiliary.

 

She graduated from Lakota High School in 1972, received her Bachelors degree from Bluffton College in 1976, followed by her Masters Degree from Ashland University in 1994. She started her career as a first grade teacher at Lakota. While taking time off from full time teaching to raise her family, she started the Y Wonderland preschool at Fostoria. She then returned to the public sector, being hired by Bettsville Schools in 1986, and was instrumental in starting both a preschool and an all day, every day kindergarten. She retired as Dean of Students at Bettsville in 2012.

 

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as scrap booking. She was also a 31 Senior Consultant which afforded her the opportunity to make many new friends.

 

Funeral services for Krista Kay Harrison will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Laurie Beaty officiating.  Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria.

 

Visitations for family and friends will be on Friday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky from 4 pm to 8 pm and prior to the funeral on Saturday August 19 from 9:30 am until 11:00 am.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Bridge Hospice or to the FACT Program of Seneca County and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
