Jim J. Morrison

Jim J. Morrison, age 74, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Upper Sandusky.

Jim was born on January 26, 1943 in Rose Farm, Ohio, to John and Bonnie (Carr) Morrison, both of whom are deceased.  He married Georgeann “Jan” Willison on November 25, 1961 in Crooksville, Ohio, and she survives.

He is survived by his two daughters, Julie (Mark) Miesle of Fremont, Ohio, and JoLynn (Joshua) Hardin of Canton, Georgia.  Four grandsons, Aaron and Drew Miesle, and Logan and Sam Hardin. A sister Barbara Ously of Doylestown, Ohio also survives. 

Jim was a 1961 graduate of Crooksville High School and went on to attend Iowa State University, where he played football.  He went on to graduate from Findlay College in 1966, and furthered his education at Bowling Green State University where he received his Master’s Degree in Education.  In recent years, Jim was inducted into the Crooksville and the USHS Athletic Halls of Fame.

He began his teaching career at Amanda Clearcreek High School for two years then moved to Upper Sandusky High School in 1968 until his retirement as an Assistant Principle and Athletic Director.  Through the years at U.S.H.S., he coached football, golf, and basketball.

Jim was a member of Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, and a member of B.P.O.E. #83 also in Upper Sandusky. 

He was a sports fanatic, and enjoyed following Ohio State football, playing golf, and loved spending time at Hilton Head, South Carolina. 

Jim loved his family most of all, especially his four grandsons.  He will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass for Jim Morrison will be held at 10:30am Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Transfiguration of the Lord Church with .  Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
