Metta Jane Oberlander - Clabaugh, age 94, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 7:40pm at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Upper Sandusky.
Jane was born on July 30, 1924 in Canton, Ohio, to Gorman and Beulah (Snavely) Oberlander, both of whom are deceased. She married Harry C. Clabaugh on January 23, 1965 in Upper Sandusky, and he passed away on February 10, 1997.
She is survived by a brother, James (Cedella) Oberlander of Tiffin, a sister, Irene Housley of Venice, Florida, 8 nieces and nephews, Barbara Deger of Venice, Florida, Patti Wetsel of Appleton, Wisconsin, David Walton of Venice, Michael Oberlander of Tiffin, Edwin Oberlander of New Knoxville, Ohio, Carol Pagnard of Indianapolis, Indiana, Marilyn Bentz of Gahanna, Ohio, and Dr. Richard Oberlander of Pickerington, Ohio, as well as friend & caregiver Kelly Rowe.
Jane was a secretary for 30 years of the Nationwide Insurance office in Upper Sandusky.
She attended First Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and was a life member and past president of the American Legion Post #225 in Upper Sandusky.
For hobbies she enjoyed playing cards, and going to Senior Center for the Council on Aging.
Funeral services for Metta Jane Oberlander-Clabaugh will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
Visitations will be held 1 hour before service on Friday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wyandot County Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation or the Wyandot County Humane Society. Memorials may be forwarded to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
