Helen M. Blair, age 87, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 7:12pm at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
Helen was born on August 8, 1929 in Eiford, Ohio to Ray Jackson and Hermia (Hall) Jackson. She married Eugene Blair on February 24, 1947 in Greenup Kentucky, and he proceeds her in death.
She is survived by three sons: Ronald (Linda) Blair of Marion, Ohio, Richard (Debi) Blair of Charleston, South Carolina, and Raymond Blair of Port Orange, Florida. She is also survived by five daughters: Carol Stepp of Upper Sandusky, Wanda (Manuel) Pedraza of Port Orange, Florida, Sandra Lazza of Findlay, Ohio, Margaret (Ron) Niederkohr of Upper Sandusky, and Renee (Scottie) Knaul of Charleston, South Carolina. Along with 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren
Helen is also survived by four brothers: John (Marlee) Jackson of Columbus, Ohio, Ray Dennis (Vernela) Jackson of Jackson, Ohio, James (Margaret) Jackson of Carey, Ohio and Steve (Yvonne) Jackson of Sycamore, Ohio. A sister, Mary Swann, of Findlay, Ohio also survives.
She was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Jackson.
Helen was a homemaker and worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant for the Fairhaven Community for 35 years.
Helen was an active member of the Church of the Nazarene in Upper Sandusky and an active member of the prayer chain. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading, playing cards, and watching television. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday, March 20 at the Church of the Nazarene in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jed Brake, and Rev. Ben Gregory officiating, assisted by John Kalb. Burial will be in New Zion Cemetery, Thurman, Ohio.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 5pm Sunday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
