Franklin Kuenzli Obituary

Franklin V.  Kuenzli, age 80, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio.

Frank was born on June 15, 1939 in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Vinton D. and Naomi A. (Neate) Kuenzli, both of whom are deceased. He married Joyce E. Case on September 1, 1962 at First Lutheran Church by Reverend Charles Stewart, and she survives in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

He is survived by four children, Rhonda E. (Mike “Rooster”) Kuenzli of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Kindra K. (Don) Kaiser of Atlanta, Georgia, Kyle F. Kuenzli of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Karenda F. Palmer of Cornelius, North Carolina, along with six grandchildren, Amanda, Jason, Kelsie, Ryan, Nick, and Kaelen, and four great grandchildren, Averie, Anderson, Alissa and Lincoln.

Frank was a 1957 graduate from Upper Sandusky High School where he was class President and played on the 1955 Upper Sandusky High School undefeated football team. Upon graduation, Frank went on to serve in the U.S. Army and National Guard for 6 years. He came back to Wyandot County to work with his father on the family farm and at Kuenzli Plumbing until his retirement.

Frank was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Upper Sandusky for over 50 years. He served on Church Council and various committees over the years. He was a life member of BPOE #83. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Bodies and O.E.S. Warpole Chapter both in Upper Sandusky. He was also a member of AMVETS 777 and Moose Lodge 1093 both in Upper Sandusky.

An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and camping. He also enjoyed Plow Days with his John Deere garden tractors. He was a huge O.S.U. Buckeyes fan, and he was an integral part of starting the Wyandot County Midget Football League.

The most important thing to Frank was his family. Any time he was with his family, he was happy.
