Eileen Clinger

K. Eileen Clinger, age 81, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 8:35am at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky.

She was born on July 17, 1936 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Emerson and Muriel (Harrington) Rowland, both of whom are deceased.  She married Norman Clinger on February 5, 1955 and he passed away on July 13, 1989. 

Eileen is survived by two sons, Greggory Clinger, and Jeff (Ann) Clinger, both of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Lisa (Don) Jones of Gambier, Ohio; three grandchildren Jana Jones, Brad Jones and Jayson Clinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son Rodney Clinger.    

Eileen was a 1954 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, where she was active as a cheerleader and also played violin in school.

She helped manage the family farms with her husband Norman, and also was a homemaker.  In addition to that she also worked at The Village Restaurant, Ohio Bell Telephone Company, and Fairhaven Homes,  all while raising her family.

Eileen was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and also attended Salem United Methodist Church.  She was a former member of the Upper Sandusky Mother’s Club, USHS Athletic Boosters, and participated in the local Farm Bureau.

For hobbies she enjoyed playing euchre, boating at Apple Valley Lake, and spending time with her kids and grandchildren, Jana and Brad Jones, and Jayson Clinger.

Funeral services for Eileen Clinger will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Monday, July 31, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and 1 hour before service time on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Angeline School of Opportunity and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
