David J. “Joe” Prince, age 60, of Toledo, Ohio and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 10:28am at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo.
Joe was born on August 15, 1962, in Kenton, Ohio, to Zulus and Ruth (VanBuskirk) Prince. His father is deceased and his mother Ruth is living in Toledo. He leaves behind the love of his life for the past 30 years, Tabitha Fields of Toledo.
He is survived by his children, (or kids), Brian (Ashley) Diller, Laura (Joshua) Pieper, Nichole (Jim) Fields, Kevin (Stephanie) Carter, Shirley (Ricki) Sweeney and Russell (Cassandra) Sweeney.
Joe was raised in the Nazarene church and graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1980. He went on to graduate with a degree in Culinary Arts from Hocking College.
He began his career as a chef at the Lodge at Hocking College, the French Quarter at the Holiday Inn, Inverness Country Club, Maumee Valley Country Day School, where he worked the last 28 years.
Joe was a member of the mason, and enjoyed working with his hands in carpentry, remodeling, and building furniture, with his greatest joy and passion being his love for preparing food for others through his cooking.
Funeral services for Joe Prince will be held 1:00pm Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Pastor Charles Winter. Burial will follow at Chandler Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, December 1, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, with a masonic service to be held at 7:45pm.
