Shirley M. Hart, age 84, of Fairborn, and formerly of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the Patriot Ridge Community, in Fairborn, Ohio.
She was born on December 29, 1931 in Forest, Ohio to Charles and Mary (Lawrence) Rizor. She married William K. “Bill” Hart on February 5, 1950 and he passed away on March 30, 2006.
Shirley is survived by her four children: Stephen (Barbara) Hart of Casper, Wyoming, Sally (Edward) Whitehead of Fairborn, Ohio, Richard Hart and David (Nancy Kofakis) Hart, both of Casper, Wyoming. Four grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren survive, along with her sister, Sharlet Hill Upper Sandusky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Helen Howell, Edward Rizor, Everett Rizor, Orthella Fout, Ruth Barth, Pauline Rizor, Vera Hamlin, Vernie Rizor, Henry Rizor and Cheryl Thiel.
Shirley was a homemaker and always kept busy working at a variety of places through the years, from DOW Chemical in Findlay, various retail establishments, and also owned and operated her
own cleaning business when she lived in Florida.
In her early years, Shirley served for over 30 years in the Scouting Community as Cub Master, Scout Leader, and as a representative for the Tecumseh District in Southern Ohio, and Northern Kentucky.
She also volunteered with the Election Board during elections in the Upper Sandusky area.
For hobbies, she enjoyed cooking, and had a very creative artistic eye to produce many different types of crafts.
Her greatest love was for her family for whom she lived for.
Funeral services for Shirley M. Hart will be held at 3:00pm Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Joe Trester officiating.
Visitations will be held 2 hours before the service on Friday, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
