Sharon R. Karg, age 78, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of rural Nevada, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 1:30pm at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

 

Sharon was born on June 7, 1937 in Lima, Ohio, to Gerald Ault and Ellen

Reel, both whom are deceased.  She married Oliver J. Karg, Sr. on June 30, 1957, and he survives at the Fairhaven Community, in Upper Sandusky.

 

She is also survived by 2 daughters, Esther (Donnie) Weaver of Wharton, and Pam (Frank) Bloomfield of Oceola.  5 grandchildren, Doug Weaver, Nic Weaver, Anna Karg, Richie (Kaila) Karg, and Rick Weaver, and 7 great grandchildren, Matthew Gerstenberger, Makiya Brown, Analiese Karg, McKenzie Karg, and Zack Karg, Taylor Karg, and Jerry Karg.

 

Sharon is also survived by 2 sisters, Fern Parker, and Vicki Reel, both of Upper Sandusky, and 4 brothers, Raymond “Bud” Ault, Great Falls, Montana; Jonathan Jr., Richard and Jake Reel, Upper Sandusky; and Eddie Dean (Sandy) Reel, Bucyrus, along with many nieces and nephews.

 

She is also survived by sister in laws, Shirley Morseof Cape Coral, Florida, Linda (Ted) Culley of Kenton, Ola Pryor of Marion, and brother in law, James (Barbara) Karg of Cape Coral.

 

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, a son Oliver J. Karg, Jr., a brother Charles “Chucky” Reel, daughter in law, Barbara Holdcraft Karg, her parents and her step-father, Jonathan Reel.

 

Sharon was a homemaker and a member of Union-Salem United Methodist Church.

 

She enjoyed crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, watching hummingbirds, and baking, especially her pies, which she blessed many with through the years, and because of her giving spirit, she was known by many as “The Pie Lady”. 

 

Funeral services for Sharon R. Karg will be held at 5:00pm Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Dennis Laferty officiating.

 

Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm Thursday at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
