Sally Rose Stutz, age 86, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 8:24 pm at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

 

Sally was born on December 20, 1930 in Bremen, Ohio to Lowell S. Linville and Nell (Sturm) Linville.  She married Don G. Stutz on April 18, 1959 and he died on July 29, 1993.

 

She is survived by a daughter Kimberly M. (Ed) Newman of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and two sons: Joseph R. Stutz of Upper Sandusky and Don H. ( Marcia) Stutz, of Peoria, Arizona. Eleven grandchildren also survive: Sarah Adelsperger, William Adelsperger, Michael Stutz, Joshua Stutz, Brittani Stutz, Chelsea Stutz, Taylor Rose Stutz, Sean Kasper, Brian Kasper, Heather (Ryan) Mills and Jacob Newman. Eight great-grandchildren survive as well: Aiden Stutz, Robert Kasper, Lily Augustus, Elizabeth Mills, Owen Kasper, Louis Kasper, Margaret Stutz and Eleanor Stutz. A sister-in-law, Norma Linville of Delaware, Ohio survives as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three brothers: James Linville, William Linville and Jack Linville.

 

Sally was a 1948 graduate of Willis High School in Delaware, Ohio and then attended Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware.  She obtained certification as a Laboratory Technologist and in 1954 became a Registered Radiologic Technologist.  She worked at Jane Case Hospital in Delaware, Morrow County Hospital in Mount Gilead and Madison Hospital in Mansfield.  In 1993, she retired from Wyandot Memorial Hospital where she had served as Chief Radiologic Technologist for 21 years. Never one to remain idle, Sally was employed by the Wyandot County Council on Aging for 2 years and retired for a second time on May 31, 2002 from the Wyandot County Health Department where she served as Administrative Assistant.

 

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, served as a member of the Wyandot County Board of Health and was a founder and active member of We Care and Share, a support group for cancer patients. 

 

Funeral services for Sally Stutz will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, June 27th at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio with Pastor Brad McKibben officiating. Burial will follow the service at Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

 

Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, June 26th and one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, June 27th at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, Wyandot Memorial Hospital Radiology Department or the Wyandot County Health Department and may be sent to Lucas-Batton 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
