Ray Cramer

William Ray Cramer of rural Nevada, Ohio, age 78, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 5:55am at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

 

Ray was born on October 13, 1938 in Marion, Ohio to Denver and

 Grace (Osborn) Cramer. He was once married to Joyce Cover (Frank Funk) of Nevada, Ohio.  He married Linda Call on March 29, 1975 and she died on November 6, 2011.

 

Ray is survived by a daughter Sheila (Dan) Gruenewald of Saline, Michigan, and two sons: Eric (Shelly) Cramer and Bob (Dawn) Cramer, both of Nevada.  He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  Five sisters: Evelyn (Gene) Piatt, of Old Town, Florida,

Eva Pollock of Marion, Ohio, Kathy (John) Rostorfer of Kenton, Ohio,

Sharon (Jim) Stump of Bucyrus, Ohio and Jeanne (Richard) Walker of Marion, Ohio. 

Also surviving are three brothers: Ty (Bonnie) Cramer of Upper Sandusky, Ohio,

Max (Billie) Cramer of Crawfordsville, Florida and David (Leeann) Cramer of Columbus, Ohio.

 

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Jeff Cramer,

and a brother, Roger Cramer, and a sister Mabel Cramer,

 

Ray was a 1956 graduate of Harpster High School and served for our country with Ohio Army National Guard. 

 

He worked for 40 years as an industrial engineering Time Study Technician for Tecumseh Products in Marion, Ohio.  He later worked at Porcelain Products, in Carey, Ohio. 

 

Ray was a life member and Past Master of F&AM Lodge #343 in Nevada, Ohio and 33rd Scottish Rite of Toledo, Ohio. He served as Education officer and worked with Special Olympics on behalf of the Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and past president of the

Marion Area Humane Society. 

 

He loved playing softball, enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting and golfing and was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. 

 

Funeral services for Ray Cramer will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 24th at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, with Rev. James Stauffer officiating

.  Burial will follow the service at Grand Prairie Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted.

 

Visitation will be held from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, May 23rd at

Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30pm.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to

Special Olympics Ohio, the Marion Area Humane Society or the

Browning Masonic Community and may be sent to
