Mary Jane Constien of Upper Sandusky died after a lengthy illness on Monday, May 23, 2016. She was 80.
Born September 1, 1935 in Salem Township, OH to Robert and Mabel
(Bachman) Koehler, she graduated from Salem High School and the Lima
Beauty Academy before marrying John Constien on June 9, 1955.
He preceded her in death on October 22, 2012.
Mary Jane is survived by for children: Leland (Cynthia) Constien of Nevada, Lance (Lina) Constien of Elkridge, MD, Linette (Chris) Corwin of New Richmond, OH, Lorette (Jeff) Willson of Nevada; five grandchildren, Angela (David) Schwab, Nicholas Willson, Cliff (Jessica) Constien, Cody Willson, Amy Constien; and one great-grandchild, Dash Constien. Surviving are two siblings, Vernon Koehler of Upper Sandusky and Nancy Roberts of Findlay, Ohio. Robert Eugene Koehler, Martha Russell, Betty White and Evelyn Hehr preceded her in death.
Mary Jane was a fixture at Upper Drug and later the Corner Store and
developed a passion for the downtown businesses of Upper Sandusky through the years. Her two volumes of books, Remember Who, Remember Where, chronicle this interest of the history of the buildings
to their origins.
Graveside services for Mary Jane Constien will be held at 11:00am Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.
No public visitation is scheduled.
