Kelley Anne Smith

Kelley Anne Smith, age 41, of Georgetown, South Carolina and formerly of Upper Sandusky and Marion, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at her home.

She was born on July 19, 1975 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, to her father, Jeff (Julie) Smith of Marion, and mother, Marie (Mark) Houpt of Georgetown, South Carolina.

She is survived by her maternal grandmother Martha Yost, a sister Jennifer (Scott) Batton, and a nephew Kirk and niece Sarah, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Malcolm Blue, and paternal grandparents Gale and Evelyn Smith.

Kelley was a 1993 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, where she enjoyed playing Varsity Volleyball and also traveling throughout Europe with her high school language club.  She went on to graduate in 2005 from The Ohio State University with a bachelor degree in Education.

She was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky.

Kelley had worked for many years at the Steve’s Dakota Grill in Marion, and also for U.S. Fitness in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies she enjoyed traveling, especially to Montana, and also going with the entire Smith Family to Hawaii was a highlight of her travels.  She also liked to go to the beach in South Carolina, swimming, reading, following the OSU Buckeyes, and playing cards.  She also enjoyed caring for her cat Zoe, and spending time with her family, especially her nephew and niece. 

Funeral services for Kelley Smith will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with the Rev. Joe Trester officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Mission Cemetery.

Visitations will be held 2 hours before service time on Wednesday,from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Humane Society of Georgetown, and or the Anna Pittman Community Recovery Center, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio 43351.
