Kathryn C. Parsell, age 86, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 2:10am at the Wyandot Memorial Hospital In Upper Sandusky.

 

Kathryn was born on September 17, 1931 in Wyandot County, Ohio to Roy and Leolia (Johns) Myers, both of whom are deceased.  She married James Parsell on July 3, 1954 at York Street Christian Church in rural Upper Sandusky and he passed away on March 3, 2008.

 

She is survived by three sons:  Doug (Erma) Parsell of Upper Sandusky, Dennis (Diane) Parsell of Sycamore and Devin (Darlene) Parsell of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, two daughters: Dianna (Dennis) Walton of Sycamore and Donna (Brad) Thomas of Harpster, Ohio.  Eighteen grandchildren also survive: Jerrod Parsell, Wesley Parsell, Lauren Parsell, Nelson Kinley, Cheryl Bowen, Vernon Kinley, Creston Kinley, Kori Parsell, Kyle Parsell, Kristen Ruthenberg, Lisa Walton, Amanda Chandler, Nathan Walton, Leslie Thomas, Lorri Stewart, Nicole Garvin, Scott Parsell and Amy Parsell, as well as thirty-five great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister in law, Betty Myers of Upper Sandusky.

 

Preceding Kathryn in death: her husband, two brothers, Raymond Myers and Ronald Myers, and three sisters: Lilian Heffelfinger, Janis Kummerer, and Gertrude Snavely.

 

Kathryn was a 1949 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School.  She was a member of John Stewart United Methodist Church for over 50 years, a member of the Upper Sandusky Eagles Lodge 2184 Auxiliary, and a Girl Scout leader. She will be best remembered for her dedication to her family.

 

Funeral services for Kathryn Parsell will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, January 23, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Brian Arnold officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Old Mission Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Monday, January 22, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
