Janet M. Boes

Janet M. Boes, age 84, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at 12:50am at the Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

Janet was born on December 1, 1931 in Carey, Ohio, to Paul and Lulu (Garn) Kromer, both of whom are deceased.She married James A. Boes on April 18, 1953 and he passed away on September 29, 2011.

Surviving are 5 children: Debra (William) Griswold, Allen (Cindy) Boes, Tony (Chrissy) Boes, Chris (Jackie) Boes, and Craig Boes, all of Upper Sandusky.  10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Along with 2 sisters, Barb (Punk)Jacob of Carey, and Mildred (Eugene) Kin of Findlay.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandchild, Tori Boes, a great grandchild, Brodie Boes, 4 brothers, Robert  (Alice), Norman (Helen), Duane and Richard Kromer, and 3 sisters, Rita (Richard) Kin, Maxine (Virgil) Welly, Katie (Don) Yingling.

Janet was a homemaker and worked for the former Swann Rubber and U-Brand Industries, both in Upper Sandusky. She was a member of the Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky.

For hobbies she enjoyed canning, mushroom hunting, picking and cleaning hickory nuts, her morning coffee with the ladies in the neighborhood, and was an avid bingo player in Upper, Carey and Sycamore. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially Sunday morning family breakfast.

Funeral services for Janet M. Boes will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.  Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic School, Sycamore Fire & Rescue, or a charity of the Donor’s Choice and can be sent to Lucas-Batton, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio, 43351.
