Jane M. Dannenhauer, age 91, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and formerly of Washington, D.C. and Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 7:55am at The Inn At Westbrook, Upper Sandusky.

Jane was born on January 8, 1925 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio to Charles and Irene (Fischer) Dannenhauer, both of whom are deceased.

She is survived by her sister Rita Dannenhauer of Upper Sandusky, and a brother Donald “DC” (Joey) Dannenhauer of Nevada, five nieces and nephews, Deborah Pinion of Upper Sandusky, Elizabeth Dannenhauer of Fancy Gap, Virginia, Joseph Dannenhauer of Phoenix, Arizona, David Dannenhauer of Nevada, and Michael Dannenhauer of Washington, D.C.  Along with many great and great great nieces and nephews.

Jane graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1942 and later attended The Ohio State University. 

Jane began her forty year career in Washington, D.C. in the House and Senate office of various elected officials, beginning during the Eisenhower Administration.  She then served in the Office of Security within the White House Complex, having served during President Nixon, Ford, Reagan, and Bush 41 administrations, retiring in 1995.

She was an active member of The Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, Washington. D.C., and after her move to Columbus a member of St. Joan of Arc in Powell, Ohio. And a former member of the Tri Sigma Sorority in Upper Sandusky.

Jane will be remembered for her amiable personality that was shown by her thoughtfulness and kindness for others.  She never met a stranger, thus had many friends throughout her life.  Her loving spirit will be greatly missed by her family, especially her sister Rita.

Services for Jane M. Dannenhauer will be private with burial at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

There will be no public calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church in Upper Sandusky, or the Activities Fund at The Inn at Westbrook, and can be sent to Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave. Upper Sandusky, Ohio  43351.
