Harry B. Shearer, age 72, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away
on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the Ohio State University Wexner
Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.
Harry was born on July 4, 1943 in Grayson, Kentucky to Harry Collins and Virgie Olive (Davis) Shearer, both of whom are deceased. He married Irma L. Pfleider on November 4, 1961 in Upper Sandusky, and she survives.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Amy (Rick) Roe of Galion, Ohio, Pat (Brian) Green of Marion, Ohio, and Lori (Verl) Dye of Oregon, Ohio. 7 grandchildren, Katie (Josh) Kirtley, Lucas (Kayla Penrod) Dye, Cameron Roe, Casey Dye, Matthew Green. And 5 great grandchildren, Declan, Greyson, Gwendolyn, Hayden, and Carmen.
Harry is also survived by his 3 sisters, Mollie (Vernon) Brinson, of Upper Sandusky, Louise (Loren) Schley of New Madison, and Sandy Leightey of Upper Sandusky, along with many cousins and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother in law, Howard Leightey Jr.
Harry retired in 2009 from Marion Technical College where he worked as a IT-Technician for the college. Before that he worked for Marion Power Shovel/Dresser Industries from 1961 to 1999.
He was a 1961 graduate from Upper Sandusky High School and also the Marion Technical College.
Harry was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky. And for hobbies he enjoyed playing music, fishing and woodworking
Funeral services for Harry B. Shearer will be held at 4:00pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Monday from 2:30pm to 4:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
