Frederick L. "Rick" Scheck

Frederick L. “Rick” Scheck, age 73, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 9:20am at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio.

Rick was born on February 3, 1943 to Frederick L. and Neva P. (Rife) Scheck. He married Karen E. Myers on June 23, 1963 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Carey, and she survives.

He is survived by 2 children, Tammera R. Anundson of Upper Sandusky, and Nick (Laurie) Scheck of Upper Sandusky; 5 grandchildren, Aaron Anundson, Abbigayle Anundson, Amanda Scheck, Elyse Scheck, and Evan Scheck; and 2 great grandchildren, Piper and Hayden.

Rick is survived by 2 sisters, Judy (Dean) Reinhard of Upper Arlington, and Sue (Roger) Swartz of Union City, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Scheck.

Rick attended Salem School all 12 years and received his diploma from Upper Sandusky High  School in 1961. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Findlay College in 1966 and his law degree from Ohio Northern University in 1973.  After graduation he joined Raymond Stansbery and Loren Schoenberger to practice law and retired from Stansbery, Schoenberger and Scheck in 2007.

Rick was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky, and was the director of the Wyandot County Board of Elections for 10 years.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1093, the Wyandot County Bar Association, and a life member of BPOE #83.

He loved his dog, Izzabelle, cutting wood, and enjoyed being in Canada in the summer and Florida in the winter.

Funeral services for Frederick “Rick” Scheck will be held at 10:30am Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky with Rev. Joe Trester officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Upper Sandusky.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky and 1 hour before service time at the church on Thursday.
