Edward E. Nye

Edward E. Nye, age 99, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 4:38am at his home.

 

Ed was born on April 1, 1918 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Zeno and Helen (Slera) Nye.  He married Alice Bowman on December 29th, 1956 in the First Presbyterian Church,

Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and she survives.

 

He is also survived by his daughter, Faye (Brian) Evans of Frisco, Texas.  Ed has two grandsons, Scott and Mark (Brittany) Evans, also of Texas, and

three great grandchildren, Van, Brisbane, and Zane.

 

Ed is a graduate of Lakewood High School in Cleveland where he played football. 

He attended Fenn College, which is now Cleveland State.  Upon graduation,

Ed was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Europe in WW2.  He spent most of his business career working as an executive recruiter.  Ed enjoyed playing golf, bridge, travel, politics, and music.  He was a member of Rotary Club in Upper Sandusky and of the

First Presbyterian Church.

 

Funeral services for Edward Nye will be held at 10:00am Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky

with Rev. Ken Wessler officiating. Burial will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be from 5-8pm.

Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Lucas Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
