David S. Miller

David S. Miller, age 91, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 6:25pm at The Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.

David was born on May 25, 1924 in Wyandot County, Ohio, to Harry C. and Eva (Smith) Miller, both of whom are deceased.  He married Alice Gongwer on March 8, 1952 in Harpster, Ohio and she survives.

He is survived by 2 children, Karen (Jeff) Pryor, and Larry Miller, both of Upper Sandusky.  3 grandchildren, John, Lisa, and Steve Vanhorn and a great granddaughter, Kathryn Vanhorn.  Along with a sister, Marjorie Blair of Upper Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Joseph, Harry, and Robert Miller, and 2 sisters, Jane Longstreth, and Mary Weaver.

David was a 1942 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, and went on to serve his country in the US Army during World War II.

He worked as an auto mechanic for many years, for Ellis & Martin Auto Sales, Grundtisch Ford, and then the Wyandot County Garage, retiring in 1990. 

David was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Upper Sandusky. 

For hobbies he enjoyed working in his yard and gardening.

Funeral services for David S. Miller will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, February 2, at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Kenneth Wessler officiating.  Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.

Visitations will be held on Tuesday, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home.
