Carl E Lewis

  Carl Eugene Lewis, age 85 of rural Harpster, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home.

Carl was born on August 25, 1931 in Nevada, Ohio to Delta E. and Hester E. (Willoughby) Lewis, both of whom are deceased.  He married Betty Emptage on June 20, 1951 and she survives.

He is survived by 5 sons: Daniel (Deborah) Lewis of Upper Sandusky, David Lewis of Hanahan, South Carolina, Michael (Penny) Lewis of Upper Sandusky, Mark (Gina) Lewis of Upper Sandusky, and Timothy (Laura) Lewis of Georgetown, Kentucky. 14 grandchildren: Rachel (Shawn) Dickerson, Seth (Lindsey) Lewis, David (Kathleen) Lewis, Chad (Melissa) Lewis, Crystal Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Jonathan Lewis, Katelyn Lewis, Heather (Jeffery) Hartman, Heath (Maria) Lewis, Scott Lewis, Ashlee Lewis and Hannah Lewis, along with 17 great grandchildren and 2 nephews, Robert Lewis and Craig Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Wayne F. and Charles F. and a sister, Fern L. Cook.

Carl was a 1949 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School and went on to the Marion Business College.

He worked as a clerk on the railroad starting with the Erie-Lackawanna and then retiring in 1993 with Conrail after many years of service. 

Funeral service for Carl Eugene Lewis will be private with Rev. Craig Lewis officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation.
