Alice M Rowland

Alice M. Rowland, age 76, of Upper Sandusky, and formerly of Sycamore, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 9:44 p.m. at Westbrook Assisted Living and Memory Care in Upper Sandusky.

Alice was born on December 20, 1941, in Crawford County, Ohio, to Fred and Clara (Troutman) Foght, both of whom are deceased.  She married Fred R. Forsyth on December 24, 1959, and they divorced in 1983. She later married Raymond J. Rowland on January 15, 1997. Fred and Raymond are now deceased.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Kim) Smalley of Sycamore, and Barbara (Charles) Mills of Lufkin, Texas; three grandchildren, Krystal Smalley, Cody Smalley, and Brianna Forsyth, along with a great-grandchild, Kenley Hopson.

Alice is also survived by a brother David Foght of Bucyrus, and three sisters, Liz (Jerry) Hargis of Winterhaven, Florida, Gloria (Ron) Lust of Crestline, and Elizabeth (Jack) Ulrich of Marion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and three brothers, Frederick, Ronald, and Richard.

Alice was a homemaker and also did waitressing through the years.

She enjoyed participating along with her children and grandchildren with horses and 4-H, and also served as an advisor. For hobbies she enjoyed traveling, camping, and gardening and taking care of animals if there was a need. 

Alice will be most remembered for her love of her children and her grandchildren.

A memorial service for Alice M. Rowland will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.

Visitations will be held on Friday, February 9, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky.
